Since its commercial launch January 1, the first half of 2025 has shown strong growth for Cursive Technology, Inc., the first provider of authorship verification through typing biometrics specifically made for writing. Demand for Cursive’s approach to writing validation and authorship has been strong. Over 50 Moodle sites have installed the plugin and are using its free revision history and process replay features to support writing skills development and academic integrity. Adoption of Cursive’s ML and AI-based API continues to grow as more institutions integrate the technology.

This July Cursive is releasing version 2.0 of the Moodle Plugin. This updated version has passed the Moodle HQ technical review, earned Privacy Friendly designation, and provides free features including process replay and copy/paste management that work locally without an API connection. This plugin version offers a free locally managed alternative to tools like Rumi Docs and Turnitin Clarity.
