Assaf Eshet, CEO & Founder Clixo, Answers Five Questions for Founders

1. Tell us about your company and the problem it solves, or its benefit to learners or educators.
Assaf Eshet, Clixo Founder and CEO

Clixo is an innovative toy company that creates flexible, multi-sensory magnetic building toys designed to spark creativity and hands-on learning. Our toys offer a unique approach to STEAM education by blending origami-inspired design with the ease of magnetic connections, allowing children to build both 2D and 3D creations. For educators, Clixo provides a versatile tool for teaching concepts in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) through engaging, open-ended play. The portability, flexibility, and intuitive nature of Clixo make it ideal for both classroom learning and self-directed exploration at home.

Many learning tools that are traditionally used in classrooms are more limited in their use. Some require specific spaces and environments, such as large flat surfaces or indoor use. Others require technology, such as computers or tablets. Others are suitable only for a specific age group or skill level, which requires purchasing multiple products in order to allow use across different grade levels or abilities. Clixo offers endless versatility. It can be used in any space – indoors, outdoors, in water, while sitting, standing, on a surface, or just in your hands. It’s also accessible from a very young age, but equally stimulating to adults, and can also be used individually or in group activities.

Clixo encourages collaboration between students.

Its range allows Pre-K teachers to use it to enhance their students’ tactile skills, as well as shape and color recognition skills, learn about collaboration, and even develop their language skills by naming each Clixo shape. Students in higher grade levels can create more complex structures while developing their science and engineering skills, all using the same packs and pieces. It’s also universally designed, allowing students with disabilities, whether physical or cognitive, to use it alongside each other, each playing on their own level.

    2. Where did the idea come from to create your company?

The idea for Clixo came from my background in design and innovation, combined with a deep passion for play-based learning. I wanted to create something that would go beyond traditional building toys by offering children a more intuitive, creative, and flexible experience. The concept of Clixo was inspired by a blend of origami principles and magnetic play, allowing for both 2D and 3D creations that foster imaginative exploration. My goal was to create a product that supports STEAM learning and empowers kids to discover and experiment.

    3. Tell us about one challenge and how you overcame that challenge.
The Clixo Classroom Pack helps educators and teachers bring the magic and fun of Clixo to all learning environments.

One significant challenge we faced with Clixo was achieving a balance between flexibility and durability in the product design. We wanted Clixo to be lightweight, easy to manipulate, and able to withstand rigorous play. Initially, we struggled to find materials that met all these needs without compromising safety or performance. After extensive research and prototyping, we developed our unique, recyclable synthetic paper material. This breakthrough allowed Clixo to be strong, flexible, and safe for kids, while also ensuring it maintained a long-lasting play experience.

    4. What are you most proud of or what is your company’s greatest achievement?

One of our proudest achievements at Clixo is being recognized as an award-winning product in the toy industry. Seeing Clixo inspire creativity and problem-solving in kids worldwide, while also gaining recognition from top educators, parents, and industry experts, has been truly fulfilling. Additionally, reaching a point where we are not only present in homes but also widely used in classrooms for STEAM learning has been a major milestone. The joy and learning our product brings to both kids and educators is our greatest accomplishment.

    5. Where do you see your company in five years?

In five years, I see Clixo continuing to grow as a global leader in open-ended, creative play and STEAM education. We aim to expand our reach into more schools, homes, and countries, becoming a go-to tool for fostering creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning. We’ll also continue to innovate with new product lines that challenge and inspire kids. With partnerships and a focus on sustainability, Clixo will remain at the forefront of the toy industry while creating meaningful, lasting educational impact for future generations.
