More Ohio School Districts Turn to ParentSquare to Expand Family Engagement

With integrated features such as ParentSquare Pay school payments solution and Smart Sites school website module, districts can streamline communications and routine tasks for schools and families

SANTA BARBARA, CA—April 1, 2025—As districts and schools navigate challenges like chronic absenteeism and academic recovery, proactive leaders are finding new ways to engage families and support student success. In Ohio, school systems are adopting ParentSquare, the award-winning unified school-home engagement platform for K-12 education, to strengthen communication and collaboration with families.

Recent districts in Ohio to select and implement ParentSquare include Dayton Public Schools, Field Local Schools, and Northwestern Local Schools—contributing to the nearly one in four districts across the state now using the platform.

ParentSquare is the leading provider of digital family and community engagement solutions for K-12 institutions, serving over 20 million students across all 50 states.

“ParentSquare has transformed the way we connect with families, making communication seamless and accessible,” said Alex Kincaid, the director of the public information office at Dayton Public Schools. “ParentSquare has allowed us to strengthen the relationship between families and schools, foster greater family engagement across the district, and maintain a two-way dialogue with families regardless of the language they speak. These regular communication touchpoints with all of our families helps build trust in our schools and district.”

ParentSquare engages every family with school communications and communications-based services—all the way from the district office to the classroom teacher, and all in one place. Additionally, the platform streamlines essential tasks, saving time for school staff and families. For example, with ParentSquare’s Smart Sites website tool, schools can easily publish and maintain websites and branded content across multiple channels. Plus, staff can use the new ParentSquare Pay feature to send home payment requests and invoices, and families can pay for activities, dues, and fees right in the same place they get school notifications and updates.

“We wanted a product that streamlined all forms of communication for our parents into one app and we needed something that allowed us to communicate with our families of Multi-Lingual Education Students,” said Bethany Hudson, the director of curriculum at Field Local Schools. “We also wanted a tool that would allow us to archive and manage all of our messaging with parents and students in one place—ParentSquare does that and so much more.”

Douglas A. Hopkins, the principal at Northwestern Elementary School added, “ParentSquare has truly transformed the way we communicate with families, enhancing both engagement and attendance. What stands out most is the exceptional customer service—whether I’m reaching out to the customer success team, or using the online chat feature, my questions are always answered promptly and efficiently. ParentSquare has been a game-changer for our school community!”
